eHost Review: The fusion of cPanel and Website Builder
eHost.com is a US based web hosting provider, headquartered in Houston, Texas. The company has been providing hosting service for small and medium sized websites since 1998. Ehost’s platform hosts over one million websites.
In the next part of this eHost review, I will share our experience with the company. You will find out what are the pros and cons of eHost.com, what we like and what we don’t like about their service.
Our Experience with eHost.com
In mid-2015 eHost has changed its business model. The company’s hosting plan has been redesigned. The new hosting plan looked like a great success so many people have started talking about. We wanted to see for ourselves what this plan is about and purchased a test account. Their hosting plan is very user friendly, its main focus is on providing an easy to use platform for beginners and non-technical persons who are wanting to create a simple website. Their support is well trained and very technical, but this should not scare newbies away, because they are very helpful too.
We decided not to use our test account for monitoring eHost’s service. In October, 2015 we choose a random website hosted on one of their web servers and started our tests. The uptime and response data is provided through the UptimeRobot API and here is the graph in real time:

At the time of writing (after 3 months of monitoring) the result was 100% uptime. Although the company only guarantees 99.9% uptime, this is a fantastic result. The average response time however is a bit high: 1,170 ms, this definitely needs some improvement.
What we Like about eHost.com

The installation process is automated, you only have to fill in the website name, admin login details and add your email address. The creation of database, upload of tiles and connection of these two is done automatically by eHost. With minimal technical knowledge, anyone can set up a website in just couple of minutes.

The main disadvantage of eHost.com is that there is not upgrade option to a higher tier hosting plan. If your website needs more server resources, you will need to leave eHost, because there is no VPS or dedicated hosting available.
The basic hosting plan does not provide an automatic backup solution, you need to purchase this feature at additional cost.
